Is Pilates a Full Body Workout?

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind-body exercise that requires core stability, strength, and flexibility, and attention to muscle control, posture, and breathing.

This exercise method was developed by Joseph Pilates, as a system of exercises intended to strengthen the human mind and body. This exercise program was developed based upon a concept now proven by scientific research; mental and physical health are interrelated. Since Pilates is a low impact exercise method, our classes are customized for a spectrum of fitness goals, ages and abilities.

Is Pilates a full body workout?

There's a reason the Pilates exercise method is so popular internationally, including with celebrities and professional athletes. It's generally low-impact and beginner-friendly, but offers many benefits.

Most of our clients want to improve their core strength. Others want to improve their health and fitness. Others use Pilates strength training to reduce back pain or improve their posture including “tech neck.” In other cases, our clients use Pilates for an ankle instability after a sprained ankle, as well as for pain in the shoulder, knee and hip. The goal of Pilates is to provide a full body workout - a global approach to restoring whole body balance.

An experienced Pilates instructor can create a routine that will wake up muscles all over your body and leave you feeling stronger and more balanced. Our 50 minute group Pilates sessions are provided in three different levels, to provide the best workout experience for you regardless of whether you are just starting, are at the intermediate level, or whether you have advanced experience in Pilates.
